Speech

What is speech?

Speech (also known as articulation) is the way we make sounds and words when talking using our lips, tongue and teeth. For example, we need to be able to say 'r' to say "rabbit" instead of "wabbit".

What is a speech delay or disorder?

A speech delay or disorder can include articulation disorders, phonological processing delays and disorders, motor planning disorders and oral-motor developmental delays. Structural differences can also impact upon speech.
