Stuttering

What is stuttering?

Stuttering (also known as speech fluency) is the rhythm of our speech. Stuttering is identified by the presence of repetitions, prolongations or blocks while a child is speaking. This means that children sometimes repeat sounds or pause while talking. Children who do this a lot may have a stutter.

How can we help?

At Discover Speech Pathology, we offer speech pathology services to children aged up to 18 years. We work collaboratively with children and their families to assess, identify and treat fluency difficulties (stuttering). When working with children who stutter, we gather a thorough case history and observe the nature and frequency of stutters. Using this information, we design a treatment plan based on your child's age, history and current communciation goals. Request an appointment today to begin your journey with us!
